A shop floor run from a whiteboard and a folder of PDFs
Job travellers, drawings and inspection sheets live on paper or in shared folders. When a customer asks where an order is, somebody walks out to the floor to find out.
Hamilton web and software development
Ojastra is a web development company for Hamilton businesses that need more than a brochure site: online ordering, quoting, booking, customer portals and the internal systems behind them. We also build custom software and AI automation, and every project gets a fixed price before work starts.
Hamilton is a straightforward run down the QEW, and we're glad to come to your shop floor, clinic or office when a visit helps.
Fixed price. You own the code. A working demo every week.
Job travellers, drawings and inspection sheets live on paper or in shared folders. When a customer asks where an order is, somebody walks out to the floor to find out.
The site gets visits, but quote requests still arrive by phone and get retyped into a spreadsheet. A designer can restyle it; we connect it to the quote, order and scheduling steps behind it.
You wanted advice on what to buy, connect or build, not an open-ended retainer. We review what you run, write a plan with prices, and build it only if you ask us to.
Clinics, labs and research groups keep records in Excel files that slowly disagree with each other. One web app with logins and a record of changes gives everyone the same version.
Work orders, material lot numbers, inspection records and shipping status in one system, so the floor, the office and the customer see the same thing.
A customer sends drawings or specs through your site, your estimator reviews a draft price built from your own rate sheet, and the approved quote becomes the work order.
Intake forms, scheduling, consent records and data capture, with proper logins and an audit trail of who changed what.
Web development for the shops and studios of James Street North, Locke Street and downtown, with payments and bookings tied to your back office.
Purchase orders, packing slips and supplier emails read and entered into your ERP, with a person approving the exceptions.
Hamilton built its name on steel, and the city still has a deep base of metal fabrication, advanced manufacturing and the suppliers that feed them. These shops juggle short runs, tight tolerances and customers who want to know where an order stands. Software that follows a job from quote to shipment is usually worth more here than a prettier marketing site.
McMaster University anchors a large health-sciences and research community, and the city's hospitals and clinics add to it. Work in that world involves sensitive information, so the blueprint covers who can see what, where the data is hosted and how changes are recorded. If the technical problem is genuinely new, parts of it may be eligible for SR&ED or NRC IRAP, which your accountant or NRC confirms.
The harbour, the Escarpment and the QEW and Highway 403 give Hamilton a different rhythm from downtown Toronto: more plants, yards and warehouses, fewer glass offices. We build for people who work on a floor or in a truck as much as at a desk.
Fixed prices in Canadian dollars. The blueprint fee is credited in full when you go ahead with the build.

A free written plan within 48 hours, then a one-week blueprint ($1,500, credited to the build) that ends in one fixed price and a schedule.
A working link to click every week. Milestone payments, no hourly surprises. Scope changes are priced in writing before we build them.
You own the code and accounts from day one. Optional care plan from $500 a month for hosting, fixes and small changes.
Our own live ordering and meal-plan platform for food businesses.
An AI coaching app we took from idea to paid MVP.
It depends whether you want a site or a system. Our projects start at $5K; a Shopify rebuild or integration runs $5K–$30K, and an ordering, booking or portal build is $20K–$60K. A $1,000 template site is a different business from ours, and the $1,500 blueprint tells you the exact price before you commit.
We do the planning and building side: reviewing the systems you run, mapping how data moves, choosing what to buy or build, and connecting it all. We don't run help desks, manage laptops or monitor networks, so keep your managed IT provider for that.
Usually. A web order or quote request can be written into your ERP or accounting tool through its API or an import file. We check what yours supports during the blueprint week, and a single connection is typically $5K–$12K over two to four weeks.
A customer portal or ordering site normally takes six to twelve weeks, an internal job tracker four to ten, and one automation two to four. The first working link lands in week one or two, with a new version each week after.
You do, from day one: your GitHub, your hosting accounts, your domain. For research or health data we agree the hosting location and access rules in the blueprint, before anyone builds.
Possibly. BDC LIFT can finance AI and digital projects for businesses with $1M or more in revenue, and SR&ED or NRC IRAP may apply when the work involves real technical uncertainty. Eligibility is confirmed by BDC, NRC or your accountant, not by us.
