What moves the price

How many screens and roles

A tool one team uses is cheaper than a portal where customers, staff and managers each see different things.

Integrations

Every system we connect to (accounting, CRM, ERP, Shopify, payments) adds work, more if it has no API and we have to work around it.

Web, iPhone, Android or all three

One web app that works on phones costs less than native apps in both stores. We tell you when you need the store apps and when you don't.

Your existing data

Moving years of spreadsheets or an old database into the new system takes cleanup and checking. Clean data is cheaper to move.

AI that runs every day

AI features carry a small running cost per use. We estimate it in the plan so the monthly bill has no surprises.

Who builds it

Freelancers, offshore teams and local firms price the same job very differently. What matters is the all-in price, the finish date and who owns the code.

Why quotes for the same project vary ten times

Owners describe getting $500 and $8,000 quotes for the same website, and $15,000 to $100,000 for the same app. The gap is rarely skill. It's scope nobody wrote down, hourly billing that keeps running, and maintenance that wasn't in the first number. Ask every builder for the same three things: a written scope, one all-in price, and who owns the code.

1. Plan

A free written plan within 48 hours, then a one-week blueprint ($1,500, credited to the build) that ends in one fixed price and a schedule.

2. Build

A working link to click every week. Milestone payments, no hourly surprises. Scope changes are priced in writing before we build them.

3. Care

You own the code and accounts from day one. Optional care plan from $500 a month for hosting, fixes and small changes.

Ways to spend less

Start with one job

A $5K–$12K automation often pays for itself before you decide on anything bigger.

Buy before you build

If an off-the-shelf tool does 90% of the job, we say so in your plan and help you set it up instead.

Check funding first

Genuinely new technical work may qualify for SR&ED tax credits or NRC IRAP support. BDC's LIFT program finances AI and digital projects for businesses with $1M+ revenue. Your accountant, NRC or BDC confirms eligibility.

Pricing questions

How much does custom software cost in Canada?

Most small and mid-sized business projects cost $5,000 to $60,000 CAD. One automation or integration is usually $5K–$12K, an internal tool that replaces spreadsheets $12K–$40K and a customer-facing web or mobile app $20K–$60K. Startup MVPs run $25K–$75K.

How much does it cost to build an app in Toronto?

A customer-facing booking, ordering or portal app is typically $20K–$60K CAD and six to twelve weeks. A simpler web app or a single feature can be less. The blueprint ($1,500, credited to the build) turns your idea into one fixed price.

How much does a custom CRM cost?

A CRM built around how your team actually sells is usually an internal tool: $12K–$40K CAD, four to ten weeks. Often the cheaper answer is connecting an existing CRM to your other tools, which is an integration at $5K–$12K.

Why are software quotes so different?

Owners regularly get quotes ten times apart for the same job, because each firm imagines a different scope, team and level of polish, and many quote hourly. A written scope with one fixed price is the only way to compare like with like.

Do you charge by the hour?

No. After the blueprint you get one fixed price and milestone payments. If you change the scope, we price the change in writing before we build it.

What does the care plan include?

From $500 a month: hosting management, monitoring, security updates, bug fixes and a set amount of small changes each month. It's optional; you own the code either way.

Can you quote in US dollars?

Yes. Our prices are set in Canadian dollars, and we quote US clients in USD on request.
