A Shopify store that outgrew its apps
Plugins stack up, checkout slows and inventory counts drift between channels. We rebuild the pieces that matter and sync the rest.
Software development for Los Angeles businesses
Brands, studios and operators in Los Angeles hire Ojastra, a Toronto software development company, to build software that fits how they actually run. We work remotely and agree one fixed price before building anything.
Los Angeles is three hours behind Toronto, so your morning is our midday, and that is when calls and weekly demos happen. You see working software every week and own the code from day one.
Fixed price. You own the code. A working demo every week.
Plugins stack up, checkout slows and inventory counts drift between channels. We rebuild the pieces that matter and sync the rest.
Briefs, versions, approvals and deliveries sit in message threads. A production tracker gives every project a status and an owner.
Inventory sits in one system, orders in another, and nobody can say what is waiting at the port or on the shelf. Connected data answers in a click.
Two proposals for the same app can differ by a factor of five or more. Our blueprint lists every screen, integration and assumption, so a price has reasons behind it.
Custom apps, ERP and inventory sync, checkout work and full store rebuilds for direct-to-consumer brands.
Crew booking, equipment checkouts, shoot schedules, approvals and delivery tracking in one place instead of five group chats.
Order intake, work orders, stock counts and shipment status for makers and distributors working around the ports.
iPhone and Android apps with accounts, payments and notifications, built together with a web version where that makes sense.
Orders keyed into the ERP, invoices matched to payments, a new lead answered within minutes. A person reviews anything unusual.
Los Angeles is a company town for entertainment, a hub for direct-to-consumer brands and a manufacturing and logistics center around its ports. Those worlds share a habit of working in many tools at once: scheduling in one, assets in another, orders in a third. Our job is usually to tie them together or replace them with one tool built for the team.
The time difference is the one real adjustment. Because you are three hours behind us, we schedule calls and demos in your morning and keep building through our afternoon. By the time your next day starts, there is a fresh build and a short note waiting for you. That rhythm suits teams who like an update at 9 a.m.
We are in Toronto and don't have a Los Angeles office. You get native English, familiar business and contract conventions and ownership of the code and IP. Our cost base is Canadian, which usually favors US clients, and a quote in US dollars takes one email.
Fixed prices in Canadian dollars. The blueprint fee is credited in full when you go ahead with the build.

A free written plan within 48 hours, then a one-week blueprint ($1,500, credited to the build) that ends in one fixed price and a schedule.
A working link to click every week. Milestone payments, no hourly surprises. Scope changes are priced in writing before we build them.
You own the code and accounts from day one. Optional care plan from $500 a month for hosting, fixes and small changes.
Our own live ordering and meal-plan platform for food businesses.
An AI coaching app we took from idea to paid MVP.
We can't speak for local agencies. For us, a customer-facing app is $20K–$60K CAD and six to twelve weeks, and a Shopify custom app or store rebuild is $5K–$30K CAD over three to eight weeks.
Scope is the main reason: how many screens, which integrations, whether payments and logins are included, and who maintains the app after launch. A written blueprint lists those choices so two quotes can be compared item by item.
We are a Toronto company serving Los Angeles clients remotely, with no LA office. We overlap with your morning and run a weekly demo you can click through yourself.
Yes. We build custom Shopify apps, sync inventory with your ERP, rework checkout and rebuild stores, usually in three to eight weeks. If a smaller change does the job, we'll say so before you spend more.
We advise on software and automations: reviewing your tools, recommending what to keep and what to change, then building the connections. For help desks, devices or networks, you'd want a managed IT provider. Our free written plan is the place to start.
You do. The code, the hosting accounts and the screens we design for you are yours, and ownership is written into the agreement rather than left to goodwill.
No call needed. You get the approach, a price range and a timeline in writing, free.
