Bids and change orders buried in email
A subcontractor's price changes, a scope item shifts, and the paper trail is eleven messages deep. Nobody can say what was approved.
Edmonton software and web development
Ojastra provides software development for Edmonton businesses, from construction firms and industrial suppliers to companies that sell to government. We also build apps, websites and AI automation, each for one fixed price agreed before work begins.
Edmonton and Toronto overlap for most of the working day, so the weekly demo lands at a sensible hour for everyone. We run projects by video and come out for a kickoff when it adds value.
Fixed price. You own the code. A working demo every week.
A subcontractor's price changes, a scope item shifts, and the paper trail is eleven messages deep. Nobody can say what was approved.
Associations, nonprofits and suppliers to public bodies compile the same figures from three spreadsheets every quarter, then fix them when someone spots a mismatch.
Sending people and gear to northern and industrial sites means rotations, camps, flights and certificates. One missed ticket delays a whole crew.
Off-the-shelf tools are cheaper until they aren't. A short, honest review tells you which side of the line your business is on.
A single record per job for budget, extras, approvals and photos, available on a phone from the site.
Rotations, certificates, equipment and accommodation tracked for contractors sending people to sites north of the city and beyond.
Intake, case notes, outcomes and funder reports in one system, replacing the quarterly spreadsheet scramble.
Insurance and safety certificates with expiry alerts, plus deadlines and versions for firms bidding on larger owners' and public bodies' work.
Tender packages, invoices and forms summarized and filed, with due dates flagged and a person deciding what to do next.
Edmonton is Alberta's capital, so government, health care and post-secondary institutions form a large and steady part of the local economy, with a wide network of suppliers, consultants and associations working around them. Those organizations value clear scope, documented process and screens that are easy to read, and our blueprint is written to suit them.
The city is also the gateway to Alberta's north, with energy and industrial work around it: refining and petrochemicals northeast of town, and oil sands projects much further north. Edmonton firms supply crews, steel, equipment and engineering to those sites, so scheduling and paperwork across long distances is an everyday problem.
Construction goes on through a hard Prairie winter, so builders here value tools that work on a phone in a truck. The University of Alberta is known for machine-learning research, and that curiosity spills into local businesses asking what AI can do. We answer with named jobs and a person approving the output, not a promise to automate everything.
Fixed prices in Canadian dollars. The blueprint fee is credited in full when you go ahead with the build.

A free written plan within 48 hours, then a one-week blueprint ($1,500, credited to the build) that ends in one fixed price and a schedule.
A working link to click every week. Milestone payments, no hourly surprises. Scope changes are priced in writing before we build them.

Expect $5K–$12K for one automation or integration, $12K–$40K for an internal tool and $20K–$60K for a customer-facing app, in CAD. Timelines run two to four, four to ten and six to twelve weeks respectively, and a $1,500 blueprint settles the exact price first.
Yes: bid tracking, document expiry reminders, reporting and case management. We write scope and deliverables in plain language, which helps when your own approvals involve several people.
We map your current systems, plan the integrations and recommend what to buy and what to build. Staffing a help desk, managing devices and monitoring networks are services we don't offer.
Yes, we build web and mobile apps for customers and staff. A $1,000 template belongs to a different category of work, so when you compare us with a web design company, our quote reflects the booking, ordering or login behaviour you actually need.
We build named jobs rather than hold workshops: drafting quotes from your price sheet, reading tender packages for due dates and requirements, filing documents against the right job. Someone on your team reviews every output that goes out. One automation is $5K–$12K.
It can help to ask. A project that solves a genuinely new technical problem may be eligible for SR&ED or NRC IRAP, and larger firms may ask BDC about LIFT. None of it is automatic, and the eligibility call belongs to the agencies and your accountant, not to us.
No call needed. You get the approach, a price range and a timeline in writing, free.
