A quote you can't judge
A vendor or agency sends a big number and a lot of jargon. We read the proposal against the problem and tell you in writing what's missing, what looks inflated and what to ask.
Toronto IT consultant for software and systems
Ojastra provides IT consulting in Toronto for software and systems: deciding what to build and what to buy, connecting the tools you already pay for, modernizing a system that's older than your newest hire, and reviewing quotes before you sign them.
One thing up front: we don't do help desk, device management or managed IT support. If you need someone to reset passwords and look after laptops, a managed service provider is the right call. If your problem is the software and systems your business runs on, you're in the right place.
Fixed price. You own the code. A working demo every week.
A vendor or agency sends a big number and a lot of jargon. We read the proposal against the problem and tell you in writing what's missing, what looks inflated and what to ask.
Vendors recommend their product and developers recommend building. We have no licences to sell, so we'll say 'buy it' when buying is right.
The person who built it left, the documentation never existed and every change feels risky. We map what it does, make it safe to change and plan a way off it.
Orders, customers and invoices live in separate places and someone retypes them. We connect the tools you keep and replace the ones that aren't worth saving.
A plain-language plan of which systems you need, in what order and at what cost, written for an owner rather than an IT department.
Off-the-shelf software and a custom build compared side by side for your situation, including subscriptions, workarounds and risk.
Your CRM, ERP, accounting, e-commerce and scheduling tools connected so data is entered once and shows up everywhere.
The Access database, legacy desktop app or aging in-house tool moved onto something maintainable, in stages, without stopping the business.
A second opinion on another firm's proposal, scope or contract. Send us the quote, or start with a free written plan and compare.
Before you buy, fund or inherit an application, we review its code, hosting and accounts and tell you what you actually have.
Toronto's business mix shapes its technology problems. Financial and professional services firms downtown hold sensitive client data on systems chosen years ago. Clinics and health practices handle personal health information under Ontario's privacy rules. Wholesalers and logistics firms along the highways run on ERPs and spreadsheets that grew with the business. The sectors differ, but the question is the same: what do we keep, what do we replace and what should it cost?
As a technology consulting firm, we stay on the software layer, which also means we're happy to work next to your managed IT provider rather than replace them. They look after devices, networks and security; we handle the line-of-business software and the integrations between systems. We sit down with GTA teams in person and work with everyone else over video.
Many owners meet us after a bad quote or a project that stalled. That's a good time to call, because a few days reading a proposal or a codebase costs far less than the build it can prevent.
Fixed prices in Canadian dollars. The blueprint fee is credited in full when you go ahead with the build.

No. We don't do help desk, device management, networks or security monitoring. We're a software and systems consultancy, and we're glad to work alongside your managed IT provider.
Many IT consulting companies in Toronto sell managed support or resell software. We build as well as advise, so our advice is priced against real work, not a slide deck. We have no licences to sell, the price is in writing before work starts and you own the code.
Yes. Send the proposal and we'll read it against your problem, then tell you what's missing, what looks inflated and what to ask. A free written plan can also give you an independent price range to compare it with.
We list what the business must do, price the off-the-shelf options including subscriptions and workarounds, and compare them with a custom build. We recommend the cheaper path that actually fits. If buying wins, we'll say so and can still connect it to your other tools.
Usually, by moving in stages: we map and document the old system, then replace or wrap one part at a time and run old and new side by side. An internal tool replacement typically costs $12K–$40K and takes 4–10 weeks; larger systems are quoted after a blueprint.
Yes, and most clients prefer it. Your provider keeps looking after devices, networks and security, and we work on the business software, integrations and any new builds, agreeing access with them first.
No call needed. You get the approach, a price range and a timeline in writing, free.
