Quotes that are miles apart
One firm prices your app at a fraction of another's and nobody can explain the gap. Our blueprint writes the screens and features down and ends in one number you can compare.
App development company
Ojastra is an app development company for businesses that need an app their customers or staff will actually use: ordering, booking, a client portal, a driver or field app. We build for iPhone, Android and the web, for one fixed price agreed before work starts.
We're based in Toronto and work with clients across Canada and the US by video. You see a working build every week, the app store and hosting accounts are in your name, and you own the code.
Fixed price. You own the code. A working demo every week.
One firm prices your app at a fraction of another's and nobody can explain the gap. Our blueprint writes the screens and features down and ends in one number you can compare.
Hourly billing and open scope let a modest app drift far past its first figure. Ours is fixed after the blueprint, and any change is agreed in writing, with its price, first.
Pictures of screens are not software. Our weekly demos are real builds you can tap through on your own phone.
Separate iPhone and Android builds double the work. We use one codebase where it fits, and tell you when a web app is enough.
Browse, order, pay and track, with notifications when something changes. Payments run through Stripe.
Customers log in to see jobs, invoices, documents and history without phoning your office.
Drivers, technicians and crews get their routes, job details and photo or proof-of-delivery capture on their phones.
Not every product needs an app store listing. A web app installs from a link and is cheaper to keep current.
The first release of a new app, built to grow, with sign-in, payments and an admin area from the start.
Every app starts with one decision: do you need to be in the App Store and Google Play, or would a web app do? We answer that in the blueprint, because it moves the price and the schedule more than anything else. A web app goes live when it's ready; a store app also waits for Apple and Google to review each release, and we build that wait into the plan.
Two products of our own show how we work. pickup.kitchen, our ordering and meal-plan platform for food businesses, includes a driver app, live order tracking and Stripe payments. Naina is an AI coaching app MVP where users upload screenshots, get a score and fixes, sign in by email and buy a paid pass. Each has a case study on this site.
After launch, a care plan from $500 a month covers hosting, monitoring, fixes and small changes. It's optional, and the code and accounts are yours whether you take it or not.
Fixed prices in Canadian dollars. The blueprint fee is credited in full when you go ahead with the build.

A customer-facing web or mobile app is typically $20K–$60K CAD, and the first version of a new product for a funded founder $25K–$75K. The $1,500 blueprint, credited to the build, fixes the price before you commit to either.
Six to twelve weeks for a customer-facing app and eight to fourteen for the first version of a new product. A working build is on your phone within the first week or two, and you see progress every week after that.
Usually not. One codebase can serve both phones and often a web version too, which saves money on the build and on every later change. If a feature genuinely needs native code, the blueprint says so and prices it.
Yes. If most of your customers are on iPhone, an iOS-only first release is a sensible start, and we'll price it that way. The design leaves room to add Android later without starting over.
You do. The code is in your GitHub account, the Apple and Google developer accounts are in your name, and so is the hosting. If you ever leave, there's nothing to transfer back.
You can run it yourself or take a care plan from $500 a month for hosting, monitoring, fixes and small changes. Bigger additions are scoped and priced in writing before we start, the same as the original build.
Yes. We audit it, then give a fixed price to fix, finish or rebuild. A rescue is typically $5K–$20K CAD over two to six weeks, and if a rebuild would cost less we tell you so.
No call needed. You get the approach, a price range and a timeline in writing, free.
