Marketplace commissions on every order
Delivery marketplaces keep a cut of each order and the customer relationship with it. Orders taken on your own site and domain keep both. Card processing fees still apply, but you set the menu and the prices.
Software for food businesses
Ojastra builds software for food businesses: restaurants, caterers, meal-prep companies and home kitchens of any cuisine. That means online ordering on your own site instead of a marketplace, meal-plan subscriptions, delivery routes with a driver app, and a point of sale that stays in step, all for a fixed price.
We know this field first-hand. We built and run pickup.kitchen, a live ordering and meal-plan platform for food businesses, so the choices on your project have already been made once in a working system.
Fixed price. You own the code. A working demo every week.
Delivery marketplaces keep a cut of each order and the customer relationship with it. Orders taken on your own site and domain keep both. Card processing fees still apply, but you set the menu and the prices.
Someone copies each order into a notebook or spreadsheet and misses one at the worst moment. Customers should order and pay in one place, and your kitchen should see a single list.
Weekly menus, subscribers, skips, allergies and payments spread over five sheets break the moment you grow. A subscription system runs the cycle for you.
Routes drawn by hand, drivers texting for addresses and customers asking where their food is. Planned routes and a driver app take most of that away.
Menu, cart, Stripe payments, pickup or delivery slots and order tracking, on your own site and domain, under your brand rather than a marketplace's.
Weekly or monthly plans, skips and pauses, dietary preferences and recurring payments, with a kitchen view of what to prepare.
Stops grouped into routes, a driver app for the day's list and live status for customers.
Orders and stock kept in step with your point of sale. We've built a Shopify POS integration, and we connect other systems that offer an API.
One screen showing what's ordered, what to cook and what goes out when.
Questions about hours, menus and catering requests handled automatically, with a person stepping in for anything unusual.
pickup.kitchen is our own platform. It's multi-tenant, so each kitchen gets its own storefront and custom domain; it takes payments through Stripe, tracks orders live and plans delivery routes with a driver app. You start from patterns that already work in a live system, not from a blank page.
Some food businesses can use an existing platform close to as it is; others need something shaped around their own menu, plans or routes. The free written plan tells you which, and if an existing product covers what you need, we'll say so. Custom work starts at $5,000 CAD.
We work with food businesses across the GTA in person and across Canada by video. Menus, cuisines and business models vary, so we ask how your week actually runs before we draw a single screen.

A free written plan within 48 hours, then a one-week blueprint ($1,500, credited to the build) that ends in one fixed price and a schedule.
A working link to click every week. Milestone payments, no hourly surprises. Scope changes are priced in writing before we build them.
You own the code and accounts from day one. Optional care plan from $500 a month for hosting, fixes and small changes.
Our own live ordering and meal-plan platform for food businesses.
For restaurants, caterers and meal-prep companies alike, a customer-facing ordering or meal-plan app is typically $20K–$60K CAD, an internal tool such as a kitchen or route dashboard $12K–$40K, and a single integration such as syncing with your POS $5K–$12K. The $1,500 blueprint turns your plan into one fixed price, and the fee comes off the build.
Yes. Orders placed on your own website or app go through your own payment account, so no marketplace takes a percentage. Card processing fees from the payment provider still apply, and the blueprint shows you the estimate.
Yes, it's one of our core builds: plans, weekly menus, skips and pauses, dietary notes, recurring payments and a prep list for the kitchen.
We've built a Shopify POS integration and can connect other point-of-sale systems that offer an API. If yours doesn't, we'll explain how we'd work around it before you commit.
A single integration takes two to four weeks, an internal tool four to ten and a customer-facing ordering or meal-plan app six to twelve. A working link is ready to click within the first week or two.
No. Restaurants, caterers, bakeries, meal-prep companies and home kitchens all run on the same ingredients: a menu, orders, a prep list and deliveries. The cuisine changes the menu, not the software.
You do. The code is in your GitHub account and the platform runs on accounts in your name, including your domain and your payment account.
No call needed. You get the approach, a price range and a timeline in writing, free.
